  • About the Course

    This two-day course has been designed to give an understanding of the phonetic principles of English and their practical application. Participants receive the THRASS Introduction and Implementation Certificate.

  • Course Materials

    Includes course materials and basic resources.

    Participants will receive a complimentary course pack which includes the THRASS Teachers manual (T-13), a variety of THRASS Charts and other sample materials.

  • Course Objectives

    Provides participants with an introduction to the THRASS literacy teaching approach through explicit teaching of the following:

    • linguistic concepts and terminology
    • oral language comprehension and expression
    • phonemic awareness and phonics for reading and writing 
    • orthography and articulation of the 44 speech sounds
    • alphabet knowledge, handwriting and fluency
    • grammar, vocabulary and etymology
    • reading comprehension and written expression
    • the MASUTA Spelling Model
    • further strategies for the decoding and encoding of English.
