These digital format THRASSCHARTS are whole-picture multi-sensory teaching tools for access the 44 phonemes (speech sounds) of spoken English.By isolating each speech sound into its own phoneme box with common graphemes, the charts show a clear physical representation of the phonographic process of English, using 120 common graphemes (spelling choices) of written English.Activating the asterisk icon, allows users to access (in many cases less common) graphemes, allowing them to understand the reading and spelling of more complex words.Each chart has two distinct parts - a consonant section and a vower section. This enables learners to clearly differentiate the articulation process of phonemes, which determines consonants and vowels. It also shows how words are built using these two phoneme groups. Additionally, it facilitates the clear demonstration of syllables and blends. In each section the phoneme boxes are arranged left-to-right for directionality mirroring the reading process. Understanding the phoneme-grapheme principle and having instant recall of the common graphs, digraphs and trigraphs that represent each of the 44 phonemes, heaps learnings in both reading and spelling process.The IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) is an international code used for guidance on pronunciation and is used in many dictionaries. Each of the 44 speech sounds of English is represented by an IPA symbol. Activating the IPDA symbol on the THRASS IPA Chart will articulate the speech sound. Activating the information button will provide users with a definition and classification of each speech sound.
