T-198 MASUTA Phoneme-Grapheme Cards

The THRASS MASUTA Phoneme-Grapheme cards are used to teach the phoneme to grapheme correspondence for each word on the THRASSCHART and to teach blending and segmenting of phonemes for reading and spelling. Each card features a THRASS key word on one side showing the number of phonemes in the word, followed by the corresponding graphemes and pictures. The key grapheme for each word is bolded to match the key grapheme on the THRASSCHART.

On the reverse of each card the word has been written in a sentence containing another word with the same grapheme. There is also another THRASSWORD in the sentence for revision. The sentences have been written to stimulate oral language and comprehension with lots of what, why, how and when questions that can be associated with the sentence.

These cards are a valuable resource for teaching oral language, phonemic awareness, phonics and vocabulary - the essential teaching elements that lead to fluency and comprehension in both reading and written expression.
